Hey everyone! I'm Norman the Merman. You might remember me from the sequence in the underwater city of Naroobi around page #378. Smile

Seriously, I'm 19 years old and this is one of the few webcomics that I read on a regular basis (and by far my favorite). The amount of work that goes into making it really shows in the quality of the finished product. I remember being amazed, the first time I saw the comic, at the level of detail in the character's facial expressions. It's a lot better than you'll find in most other comics and it really adds a lot. But my favorite part is the characters and the interesting story. I started reading from the first page, read all the way up to the present and now I'm hooked! I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. Scott, thanks for making such an awesome comic!

Welcome Norman and welcome again Unklelemmy...

It's great to have you here.

Thanks for introducing yourselves and thank you again for reading Dreamland.
It's a real pleasure to meet you both.

Yo, i'm Saint, an amateur 13-year-old animator. I was looking over 'The Webcomic List' when I found this comic, and I have to say, the graphics of it are absolutely dazzling! It deserves way more popularity! Also, Happy Hallowen.

Hye saint! I agree with you about the graphics, they truely are amazing. I'm still not sure why this forum is so small. I could never quite stand the webcomic list though. Names alone to not give me enough information to make a desicion about them, and I'm not going to go click on the little profile for all of them!

note: "Hye" is not a typo, it's my own way of greeting people.

To extend on what Gliphon said:

I like the fact that the forum is relativly small, we can get to know everybody better!

I beg to differ. The sheer NUMBER of posts don't make one important.
What you really CONTRIBUTE WITH is what counts.
Thus, I'd say that (for example) TFBW is lightyears ahead of me, although I may be ahead in # of posts.

Hi all. My nickname is The_Lone_Dragon, you may call me lone if you want, and im 24 from Canada.

I just recently found the site(both the webcomic and the forum) even though I'm sure I've seen ads for it last year and I do remember trying to find it on the web but not knowing the exact name threw me off. I must say the artwork is just, leaves me speachless really. the story and relationships of all the characters, the style, ... wow.

I'm a writer mostly of kid books and I've done lots of fan fiction over the years so when I first came upon Dreamland I was first wondering how 3d work came upon a 2d surface and the first thought was "It's so darn crazy it might just work". The writing has really kept me up at night though. It just sucks me in and doesn't let go. I've read the comic maybe 4 times this week and every neunce, every detail is so wonderfully woven into a simple patern a child would love but with a underlaying layer that just drags me along wanting to look deeper into each word.

Well I know this is just a introduction thread and I'm sorry for gushing about the comic but... wow

Hey Lone Dragon...
So nice to meet you...
thank you so much for your kind words. It's always an incredible treat when another writer comes along and sees the subtleties I'm trying to imbue into my story.

I'm a hack...just muddling his way around it. So it's a wonderful thing when someone sees what I'm TRYING to do.

Thanks.

I was reading your post and got to this part...and stopped on the last word in this quote...ha ha.

I blinked...then kept reading...and went WHEW!

Anyways. Thanks so much for reading...posting...and saying nice things about Dreamland.

I hope you continue to enjoy the story.

Hello, I'm Laura and I'm new.

I found the comic and read through the entire archives in one night. I didn't even look up until I'd gotten through 400 and I couldn't believe how quickly it moved. Keep on it. Smile

Hi again Tyger...
Welcome.

I used to do Aikido. Was a lot of fun.

I think when my kids are older (they're 4 now) we'll look into something like that for them.

Anyways. Welcome....again.

Hm yeah I immediately went to Wikipedia when I read your post above (02-12), but the ONLY reference to it was in Mortal Kombat, and a fictional warrior called "Scorpion" which uses it... so, it IS an all made-up style, is it?

Hello, all! Couldn't decide whether to resurrect this thread or start a new one. An examination of Da Rules (and the rest of the Meta forum) didn't reveal any mention of necromancy, so...

Ahem.

Hiya. We'd* been avoiding reading TDR for awhile because of the vaguely plasticy feel to the 3D art. It turns out that this was a mistake, as we found out after deciding "let's just give it a go" when linked from the Earthsong fillers. Anyone ever liken the grip of the storyline to that of a vice? Or a black hole? 'Cause it sure doesn't let go. Inevitably coming to the end of the archives was... well, let's just say the ole desk looks a little more mutilated than it did before.

*Long story.
